At Ghent University (Belgium) we will conduct a multidisciplinary
research project on the ‘_Changed Face of Local Democracy_’
(starting in fall 2021).
The project focuses on the systemic effects of the participatory turn,
estimating (the contingencies of) attitudes, roles, relations and
legitimacy perceptions of place-bound stakeholders in democracy such as
citizens, civil society, civil servants and politicians. It adopts mixed
methods (i.e. survey experiments and case-studies).
The project will ultimately lead to 4 PhDs (bursaries to be selected).
To help coordinate the project and foster collaboration between the
disciplines, we are recruiting 1 Postdoctoral Researcher (100% – 4
years). More information can be found at: https://tinyurl.com/2c6ckrkb
