Assistant Professor in Political Science Positions: (i) International Relations; (ii) Comparative Politics & Public Policy (Singapore Management University, School of Social Sciences)

The School of Social Sciences (SOSS), Singapore Management University, invites
applications for two tenure-track positions in (i) International Relations (IR), and (ii)
Comparative Politics and Public Policy (CP), at the rank of Assistant Professor.

(i) International Relations (IR)
We are seeking candidates who are well rounded in International Relations and
especially those with expertise in international organizations, regionalism, migration,
or human security. The successful candidate will display a record of, or high potential
for, scholarly research, as well as demonstrated teaching aptitude. The position
requires a doctorate in Political Science, International Relations, or a closely related
field. Successful candidates should be prepared to teach both introductory courses
and advanced electives in international relations.

(ii) Comparative Politics and Public Policy (CP)
The ideal candidate is one who conducts innovative research in Comparative Politics
who can also teach Public Policy courses. We are open to research focus, although
interest in Asia is a plus. The successful candidate will display a record of, or high
potential for, scholarly research, as well as demonstrated teaching aptitude. The
position requires a doctorate in Political Science, Public Policy, or a closely related
field. Successful candidates should be prepared to teach courses in both the Political
Science major field as well as in the Public Policy and Public Management second
major.

Singapore Management University is a research university committed to an
interdisciplinary and integrated curriculum, providing opportunities to work with
faculty across the social sciences. The research support is excellent, and salary and
benefits are highly competitive. The teaching load is comparable to other research
universities, and typically, junior faculty receive a 3-course per year teaching load for
their first contract.

Full evaluation of applications will start 15 September 2018. To ensure full

2018. Interviews for shortlisted candidates will begin in October 2018. The successful
candidate will be expected to start at Singapore Management University in July 2019.

to-date curriculum vitae (including a list of three referees), (3) a 1-2 page research

statement, (4) a 1-2 page teaching statement, (5) up to three writing samples, and (6)
