The Department of Social, Political and Cognitive Sciences at the University of Siena is currently advertising two non-tenure-track assistant professor positions. Both positions are for three years. We invite applications from candidates doing research in one of the following two areas:
• Position 1 (full time): This position focuses on a candidate with a strong interest in behavioural research and experimental approaches. Experience with the design and analysis of deliberative experiments, both online and offline, is
an asset. To apply please go to the following web page.
• Profile 2 (part time): This position focuses on a candidate with a strong quantitative data analysis component. Experience with statistical natural language processing, text mining and analysis of audiovisual materials is an asset. The successful candidate will work on panel and cross-national survey data and on analysing political speeches from a variety of sources (text, images, video from TV, radio and online sources). To apply please go here.
The positions are funded by two H2020 projects, EUComMeet (https://www.eucommeet.eu/) and JOINT (https://www.jointproject.eu/). They come with excellent opportunities for research and professional development, enrolment in the Italian Public Service Pension Fund and good welfare benefits.
Successful candidates are expected to move to the Florence-Siena area, participate in the scholarly activities of the Department and conform to the regulations that apply to the position. Knowledge of Italian is useful but not
essential. The successful candidates will conduct independent and collaborative research as part of the research projects in which they will be involved. They will also contribute broadly both to empirical analysis and quantitative research at the
DISPOC, work with undergraduate and graduate students engaged in the Department research projects and offer courses in the Department.
Further details about the project, research team and duties associated with the position can be obtained from the Project PI, Professor Pierangelo Isernia at isernia@unisi.it.
For administrative assistance in the application, you can address Mrs Manuela Maltese at maltese4@unisi.it
The deadline for application is August 23, 2021
