How to Get to Naples

The city of Naples can be reached by various means of transportation. It is recommended to arrange travel as early as possible, as the conference dates coincide with a peak tourist season in the city.

 

TRAIN

The main railway hub is Napoli Centrale – Piazza Garibaldi station, served by all major train operators (Frecciarossa, Italo, Trenitalia, etc.). Please check the websites of individual service providers for fares and schedules.

 
AIRPLANE

The main airport is Naples Capodichino Airport, served by all major national and international airlines and connected to the city center by bus and taxi. Please refer to the websites of individual service providers for fares and schedules.

 
BUS

Naples is well connected by bus to major Italian and European cities. The central hub is Naples Metropark, located next to Napoli Centrale – Piazza Garibaldi station. Please check the websites of individual service providers for fares and schedules.

 

CAR

To reach Naples by car, it is recommended to take the Napoli-Centro highway exit and follow signs for “stazione” (station). However, please note that the conference venues are located in Naples’ historic center, which has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1995. This area has traffic restrictions, so it is advisable to plan ahead by booking parking spaces or accommodations that have agreements with the city administration for access to restricted traffic zones (ZTL).

How to Get to UNINA

The SISP 2025 conference venues are located in the historic center of Naples:

  • Complex of SS. Marcellino and Festo, Largo S. Marcellino 10 – 80138 Naples, NA
  • Department of Social Sciences, University of Naples Federico II, Vico Monte della Pietà 1, 80138 Naples
FROM NAPLES CENTRAL STATION (NAPOLI – PIAZZA GARIBALDI):
  • Metro Line 1: Get off at Duomo station, then walk for about 5 minutes (600 m)
  • Bus R2: Stop at Umberto I – Duomo, then walk for about 5 minutes (600 m)
  • On foot: 25 minutes (1.5 km)
  • Taxi: 12 minutes
FROM NAPLES CAPODICHINO AIRPORT:
  • Alibus shuttle to Napoli Centrale + Metro Line 1 (Duomo stop) – 40 minutes
  • Bus R2 to Umberto I – Duomo – 40 minutes
  • Taxi – 20 minutes
