BISA 2022 Conference – Call for panels

The annual BISA 2022 conference will be held virtually on 14 June 2022 and in person from 15 – 17 June in Newcastle, UK. You can find out more about the conference here:

As SISP members, it is possible to propose a “sponsored” panel/roundtable.

In particular,  if you would like to participate virtually, BISA will be giving all panellists a complimentary year’s membership to BISA and waiving all conference fees.

As a second option, if you would prefer to attend in person, BISA would also be happy to extend a year’s free membership to all panellists. In addition, BISA would be able to give a complimentary conference ticket only to one ‘early career researcher’ from your panel/roundtable. All other members of your panel/roundtable will need to pay BISA discounted membership rate.

In order to submit a panel/roundtable to the conference please could you send us the following.

  • A brief panel/roundtable description of no more than 200 words.
  • For panels there should be between 3 to 5 paper abstracts. For each abstract please can you provide the details (name and institution) of at least one author and one speaker. The author and the speaker can be the same person. Please keep abstracts between 150 and 200 words.
  • For roundtables, please provide the name and institution of all those taking part indicating who will be chairing the session.

Please note that BISA is firmly committed to the principles of equality, diversity, and inclusion. They expect all panels and roundtables at BISA 2022 to reflect this commitment by demonstrating diversity in their participants including (but not limited to) gender, ethnicity, career stage, and geographical location as appropriate.

Proposals must reach the SGRI email account by 3 December at 5pm (Rome time).
